Support SafeD Athens Annual Fundraiser

Dear Supporters of SafeD Athens,

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue our dedicated efforts to enhance safety on the UGA campus, we want to update you on our progress and our urgent needs.

While UGA has made strides in campus improvements this summer, several critical areas still require attention. We remain committed to addressing these gaps, which include:

  • Integration of UGA Cameras with an Active Shooter Alert System (RTCC)

  • Implementation of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

  • Expansion of Safety and Homeless Outreach Ambassadors

  • Enhancement of the Safe Ride Program

  • Performing an Independent Security Assessment to Detect and Address Unresolved Vulnerabilities

To advance these crucial initiatives, we have launched our fundraising campaign for the school year. Your contribution is vital and tax-deductible, directly supporting our operations and helping us drive real change. We need your support to make our campus and community safer. Please visit safedathens.org, click the DONATE button above or use the Zelle QR code  to make your donation today.

Our mission is nonpartisan and focused solely on advocating for essential safety and security enhancements. We operate with integrity, free from external influences, thanks to the generosity of individual donors. Our 501(c)(3) status ensures that all funds go directly to our cause, as we rely on volunteers—parents, students, and community members—who contribute their expertise pro bono. This model allows us to keep administrative costs low and channel more resources into our safety initiatives.

To stay updated on our work, follow us on social media at @SafeDAthens on Facebook, Instagram, and X. Join one of our Facebook groups, UGA Parents for Safety and Security and SafeDAthens Concerned Community Group, to engage with our community and support our efforts.

Your support is crucial in our mission to protect and secure the UGA campus and the Athens community. Together, we can make a difference.

Thank you for your continued commitment and generosity.

Warm regards,

Lynn Gainous and the SafeD Athens Team
