Honoring the life of Ariana Parse though music and community.
In the Fall of 2021, we lost one of our sisters, Ariana Zarse, in a hit-and-run accident in downtown Athens. Better known as Ari to the chapter and her close friends, she was a light in our chapter and loved by everyone. From her involvement in our chapter as Director of Social Events, to participating in on-campus philanthropy events, and working at Saucehouse and Boar’s Head Lounge, Ari is well-known among the UGA community. We are dedicating this event to her through her love of music and social events. All proceeds from this event will be donated to The University of Georgia’s Sunshine Fund. This fund was established through the University’s Student Care & Outreach by a group of UGA parents in 2020 to help support the mental well-being of UGA’s students. Money from this fund is awarded to students to assist them in affording mental health services and/or to help mitigate circumstances that may be impacting their well-being negatively. More information about the Sunshine Fund and its eligibility criteria can be found here. Ari meant so much to many people; this event will help her memory live on.
If you want to read more about Ari’s Story, SafeD Athens’ website is linked here. From there, click on Dawg Stories, where you will find Ari's story written by her father, Jeff Zarse. SafeD Athens is a nonprofit dedicated to improving safety and security infrastructure for the University of Georgia’s campus and the city of Athens, Georgia.
